Wonder Woman: Another Letdown from the DCEU (Blu-ray)
The Film: Since 2013, the DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) has tried like hell to get off the ground, only to find itself stumbling over and over again. “Man of Steel” wasn’t a bad start, with its only major flaw being a second half that went a little overboard with the action. However, things quickly got much worse with the release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad,” a pair of films that looked rather promising, but fell short in multiple areas tha

The Winners of the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards
The 2017 Primetime Emmys have just concluded this evening, and surprisingly, when all was said and done, the big winner of the night turned out to be "Saturday Night Live" with a whopping nine wins (including its wins from the Creative Arts Emmys), including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, Directing, and Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series. Not far behind were "Big Little Lies" and "The Handmaid's Tale" with eight wins apiece. For the most part, it was a rather

Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season Comes to Digital HD September 25th and Blu-ray/DVD Dece
At long last, HBO has finally made the official announcement for the home release of "Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season," which will first come to Digital HD on September 25th, followed by the Blu-ray/DVD release on December 12th. Of course, we've already known the date for a while, but now we have all of the details on the upcoming release, including the cool and creepy box art (see above), featuring the Night King, as well as all of the special features that are

E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial: The Spielberg Classic Celebrates 35 Years (Blu-ray)
The Film: Without question, Steven Spielberg has directed some of the most beloved films of all time. From rousing adventures like “Jaws,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and “Jurassic Park” to captivating dramas like “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “Schindler’s List,” and “Saving Private Ryan,” his is perhaps the single most recognizable name in the history of cinema. Even with this sampling of his filmography (all six of which won Oscars), it’s quite something to be able t

Winners of the 2017 Creative Arts Emmys
For the past two nights, the Television Academy has handed out the Creative Arts Emmys, which are pretty much the technical and smaller awards that they don't have time for at their main ceremony. Many shows scored big wins these two nights, including "Stranger Things" (5), "Westworld" (5), "The Night of" (4), "Big Little Lies" (3), and "The Handmaid's Tale" (3). A lot of these wins were a bit surprising, particularly "Stranger Things" winning Best Casting for a Drama Series.

It: A Satisfying Blend of Coming of Age Drama and Horror
Over the decades, adaptations of famed horror author Stephen King’s works have been hit or miss, ranging from clunkers like “Pet Sematary,” “The Mist,” and the recently ill-received “The Dark Tower” to upper-tier works like “Misery,” “The Green Mile,” and the masterful “The Shining” (which ironically diverts from the novel quite a bit). When it comes to one of King’s most acclaimed novels, the epically-lengthy “It,” all we have is the middling miniseries from 1990, praised fo

Spider-Man: Homecoming Comes to Digital HD September 26th and Blu-ray/DVD October 17th
When "Spider-Man: Homecoming" hit theaters this past summer, I think audiences were genuinely shocked to get another good film in the franchise after 13 long years and three big disappointments along the way. Not since the great "Spider-Man 2" all the way back in 2004 had we gotten an entry that was fun and exciting, but also took its time with the characters. What resulted was a film that had an impressive 92% (7.6/10) on Rotten Tomatoes and an astounding $747 million worldw

The Lion King (Signature Collection): Disney's Greatest Animated Achievement (Blu-ray)
The Film: Disney’s “The Lion King” has always held a very special place in my life. It was one of the very first films that I can recall becoming completely obsessed with at a very young age (the soundtrack, stuffed animals, multiple viewings of the VHS, etc.), and it even holds the distinction of being the very first film that I saw twice at the theatre. There’s no denying that there have been many masterpieces in the Disney animated collection, but still to this day, I cons

The Flash: The Complete Third Season: A Grand Return to Form (Blu-ray)
The Show: The CW’s most popular superhero program, “The Flash,” was an incredible triumph upon its premiere, integrated fun, excitement, drama, humor, action, and romance into a thrilling show that proved that comic book adaptations on the small screen could easily compete with the big-budget fare being released into theaters, and even surpass it in many instances. The show’s second season, while ultimately a small step back due to a few narrative issues, still managed to del
