Nominations for the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

The Television Academy has announced this year's nominees for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, and it comes as absolutely no surprise to see the future winner of yet another Outstanding Drama Series Emmy, "Succession," leading the way with 27 nods. What was a little surprising was to see the incredible "The Last of Us" come in a very impressive 2nd place with 24 (most of us knew it was going to do well, but I don't think anyone expected THAT well).

Over in Comedy, we have another non-surprise as "Ted Lasso" leads the way with a remarkable 21 nominations, followed at a distance by "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" with 14. Limited or Anthology Series saw a tie between "Beef" and "Dahmer" with 13 nods each.

As mentioned, it's a foregone conclusion that "Succession" will be cleaning up the major drama categories, but perhaps there will be some competition elsewhere. "Ted Lasso" appears to be the comedy to beat, though with the raves that "The Bear" has been getting, it could sneak in for the win. Meanwhile, the very popular "Beef" seems to have a pretty tight hold on Limited or Anthology Series since "Dahmer" was snubbed for writing.

We'll just have to wait until the ceremony on September 18th to find out. Until then, see below for nominees in a few of the major categories, and see a complete list of the nominations here.
