Film Nominations for the 75th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards


The Directors Guild of America has just announced the nominees in their top film categories and there's only one very minor surprise. After barely making any appearances throughout awards season, Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick") has nabbed the fifth slot for the DGA's biggest honor, a spot that many assumed would most likely go to James Cameron for "Avatar: The Way of Water." The Daniels have held a firm lead in the race for the Best Director Oscar thus far, but the unexpected win for Steven Spielberg at last night's Golden Globes may have shaken things up a bit.


Winners will be revealed on February 18th, but in the meantime, please see below for a list of today's nominees:
