First Reviews for Halloween Are In

For months, fans have been waiting patiently to see if David Gordon Green's new "Halloween" flick would be worth it, but the wait is finally over. The film premiered late last night at the Toronto International Film Festival, with the first smattering of review making their way online this morning, and the reactions thus far have been overwhelmingly positive!

As of now, 11 reviews have been put up on Rotten Tomatoes, giving the film a solid 100% and a score of 8/10. Here's a sample of what the critics have been saying so far:

"Green has pulled off what he set out to do, tying up the mythology that Carpenter and company established, while delivering plenty of fresh suspense - and grisly-creative kills - for younger audiences..." - Peter DeBruge, Variety

Well, it certainly sounds like Green and co. pulled it off! After "Halloween: Resurrection" and the two dreadful Rob Zombie entries in the franchise, a lot of people were beginning to wonder if we were ever going to get another decent flick in the series, but now it would appear that fans can rest easy. Unfortunately, the rest of us still have over a month to wait before we can finally see the film for ourselves, but at least it's good to know that it will be worth it in the end.

"Halloween" hits theaters on October 19th, 2018.
