The Screen Actors Guild has just finished handing out their awards for 2017, with the unsurprising result being the outstanding "Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri" winning the top prize of Best Cast in a Motion Picture. The film also received Best Actress for Frances McDormand and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Rockwell, making it only the fourth film in SAG history to receive three awards.
As far as the film categories go, there were absolutely no surprises this evening, as all five categories went to those who were heavily-favored to win. With the film receiving so much love from the actors tonight, we can only assume that the film continues to be the frontrunner for the Best Picture Oscar. Additionally, with all four individual film winners repeating their wins from the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, it seems like all four of them are locked down for their respective Oscars.
Speaking of the Oscars, the next big event on the awards schedule is the Oscar nominations coming up on Tuesday morning, so be sure to check back bright and early to see if your favorites make the cut.
