Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special Gets a Teaser at Comic-Con

With the recent wrap of the tenth season of "Doctor Who," all Whovians now have to wait several months to see Peter Capaldi's final performance as The Doctor in this December's Christmas Special. We already had a small idea of what to expect thanks to the little tease at the end of the last episode, but today saw the release of a minute-long look at the upcoming special that shows us a little more.

It looks to be a fascinating episode that will pair Capaldi's 12th Doctor with David Bradley's 1st Doctor, with Mark Gatiss (playing Brigadier General Lethbridge-Stewart perhaps?) and Pearl Mackie's Bill along for the ride. For those of you who've seen the outstanding biopic "An Adventure in Space and Time," you know how incredible a job Bradley did of playing William Hartnell/The 1st Doctor, and if this teaser is any indication, he's set to give another command performance.

However, the question on everyone's mind is more than likely just how The 12th Doctor is going to go, inevitably leading to his regeneration into the recently-announced Jodie Whittaker as The 13th Doctor. He was already close to the end at the conclusion of "The Doctor Falls," so perhaps the result of his last fight will simply take its final toll, or perhaps Steven Moffat plans to send him off with a bang before handing showrunner duties over to Chris Chibnall for a completely fresh start.

However it happens, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to see these two Doctors interact. Sadly we're still left with five months to wait, but hopefully it will be worth it when the 2017 Christmas Special comes to the small screen on December 25th.

In the meantime, check out the teaser above, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
