Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Gets an Epic Third Trailer

Disney has released yet another trailer for the highly-anticipated fifth outing in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise entitled "Dead Men Tell No Tales," and it's nothing short of epic. Featuring plenty of new footage, this latest trailer gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the upcoming film, but just in case you're not aware of the new plotline, here's a brief synopsis:

Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea...including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

After the rather bland fourth entry in the series ("On Stranger Tides"), hopefully the franchise can get back to the fun sense of adventure that the original trilogy was very successful at putting on screen, and from the look of it, it seems like that's exactly what they were looking to do.

With a cast featuring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites ("Gods of Egypt"), and Kaya Scodelario ("Moon"), a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson ("Catch Me If You Can"), and direction from Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg ("Kon Tiki"), the film appears to be shaping up rather nicely. Sure, some will argue that the series is already past its prime, but there just might be a small glimmer of hope that we can get one more grand adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow before it all comes to an end.

We'll just have to wait and see when "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" finally hits theaters on May 26th, 2017.
