Pete's Dragon Comes to Digital HD and Blu-ray/DVD on November 29th

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has just announced the home release of "Pete's Dragon," which will be coming to Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, On-Demand, and Blu-ray/DVD on November 29th.

Continuing the success of live-action adaptations of Disney classics, "Pete's Dragon" scored very well with audiences and critics alike, with many praising its emotional story and calling it one of the best films of the year. While I've yet to see it, if the recent "The Jungle Book" is any indication of the treatment these films are getting, then it's sure to be the pleasant surprise that many are making it out to be.

As far as the special features go, the following will be included on the film's different releases:

BLU-RAY & DIGITAL HD:

• Notes to Self: A Director’s Diary – Director David Lowery narrates the personal diary he kept through the filming of “Pete’s Dragon” in this intimate and fascinating look at the movie’s making.

• Making Magic – Discover fun facts about what went into designing this spectacular, lovable dragon.

• “Disappearing” Moments – The director shares a montage of the film’s “lost” scenes.

• Welcome to New Zealand – Experience the wonders of New Zealand and learn why it’s a magical place to visit … and to make a movie.

• Audio Commentary – Gain an insider perspective from director David Lowery, co-writer Toby Halbrooks and actors Oakes Fegley and Oona Laurence.

• Music Videos

• “Nobody Knows” by The Lumineers

• “Something Wild” by Lindsey Stirling featuring Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

• Bloopers

DVD:

• Making Magic

Looks like we can expect plenty of "Making of" material, including the director's diary, a look behind the scenes at the designs, and a commentary with filmmakers and stars. It also looks like we can expect more pointless music videos (why did this ever become a thing?), but at least there are plenty of legitimate extras to keep audiences happy.
