Mad Max High Octane Collection Comes to Blu-ray/DVD on December 6th

It was only a matter of time, but at long last, Warner Bros. has officially announced the "Mad Max High Octane Collection," which will contain all four films in the popular "Mad Max" series ("Mad Max," "The Road Warrior," "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome," and "Mad Max: Fury Road"). The set is due to be released on December 6th.

In addition to the four films, the set will come with five hours of bonus features, along with the long-awaited "Black & Chrome" edition of "Mad Max: Fury Road" (a black and white cut of the film).

All-in-all, it looks like they could have done a little better with the special features, as there don't seem to be any pertaining to "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome," and merely an introduction and black & white cut for "Fury Road." One would think they would at least include the previously-released extras, but the press release does not indicate this. However, at least you get two intriguing-sounding "Making ofs" for the first two films. Meanwhile, for those who are simply interested in finally obtaining the "Black & Chrome" edition, it will also be available as a separate item together with the original color version of the film.

That release date again is December 6th, so if you are one of the franchise's millions of fans, be sure to make a note of it.
