Mind-Bending New Trailer for Marvel's Doctor Strange Premieres at Comic-Con

I have to admit, Doctor Strange is one of those Marvel characters that I know absolutely nothing about. In fact, up until recently, I thought he and Professor Strange (from "Gotham") were the same person. However, after seeing the first trailer, I was somewhat intrigued by the film's interesting look, and became interested in what the film has to offer.

A second trailer debuted today at Comic-Con, giving us a lot more new footage that features some very "Inception"-like effects and a lot more of Mads Mikkelsen's villainous Kaecilius. Featuring a cast that also includes Oscar nominees Benedict Cumberbatch (as the titular Strange), Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Tilda Swinton, the film is shaping up to be another action-packed adventure from Marvel, who has almost always consistently delivered with their plethora of superhero flicks over the last several years. No doubt it'll have the same problematic, explosion-filled climax as the rest of Marvel's films, but that hasn't stopped them from being fun before.

After watching this latest trailer, I still don't know much about the character, but that's just the way I like it. I enjoy not having any pre-conceived notions about who any of these superheroes are supposed to be, whether through reading the comic books or doing research on my own. The film is supposed to tell us everything we're supposed to know anyway, right? I find that it's best to keep everything a surprise. That way, the movie can potentially be even more enjoyable than it otherwise might have been.

Luckily, we don't have that long to wait for this one, as Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" arrives in just over three months on November 4, 2016.
