The Epic Teaser for Justice League Has Arrived

After the disastrous "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" landed in theaters with a thud, it put a major dampener on DC's cinematic future. This caused many to question whether or not the upcoming "Justice League" film (which was reduced from two films to one) would have the same issues it had had, including an overly-dark and gloomy nature, in addition to a muddled mess of storylines.

Well, to help put some of those fears to rest, the first teaser for the film was unveiled today at Comic-Con, and it certainly looks epic to say the least. We get a good look at several of the characters, including Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck), Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). The teaser gives the impression that the storyline is centralized around Bruce Wayne as he tries to bring together the titular superheroes to fight against some unknown threat, so it would appear that it won't be quite as scattered as before. We also get a good dose of humor in these three brief minutes, showing that they have indeed learned that doom and gloom don't make for a fun superhero experience (though it remains a mystery as to why they ever thought it would).

At this point, we can only hope for the best, but just based on this teaser alone, I'm actually starting to look forward to it a little bit now. I have to admit, after the failure of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," my hopes for "Justice League" dropped considerably, so this teaser was a welcome relief. Perhaps DC Comics does indeed have a future in movies.

Zack Snyder's "Justice League" opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
