CONTEST: Win The Knick: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray

Andre Holland and Clive Owen in "The Knick"

When Cinemax's "The Knick" returned for its second season, it came back in a big way, and better than ever. The first season had opened the door and shown the strong possibilities the show had, but it was the sophomore season that truly fired on all cylinders, throwing us into a fascinating period drama that featured intriguing characters and mesmerizing storylines all revolving around the employees and patients at the Knickerbocker Hospital in New York at the turn of the 20th Century.

With an outstanding ensemble that includes Academy Award nominee Clive Owen, Andre Holland, Jeremy Bobb, Michael Angarano, Juliet Rylance, and Eve Hewson, the second season is set to make its Blu-ray debut on August 2nd. To celebrate its release, we're giving away two copies to a pair of lucky readers.

All you have to do to enter is subscribe to the site and send an email to with "The Knick" in the subject line and your name and preferred shipping address in the body. The winners will be chosen on August 2nd. Good luck!

In the second season, The Knick faces an upheaval, as Dr. John Thackery’s absence (due to his hospitalization for cocaine addiction), a dearth of affluent patients, and financial missteps have led to the board’s decision to shutter the hospital in favor of a new building uptown. In this world of corruption, invention and progress, everyone is searching for the new path that will help him or her survive. Whether it’s a path toward justice, freedom, love or just plain survival, nothing comes easy. As relocation plans proceed, the gifted but under-appreciated Dr. Algernon Edwards jockeys to become Thackery’s successor as chief of surgery, while fellow doctors, nurses, nuns and administrators grapple with challenges at work and in their private lives.
